Sen. Chuck Schumer caused a scene at a Manhattan restaurant when he began yelling at a wealthy and well-connected Donald Trump supporter that the POTUS is “a liar.”

Schumer, the top Senate Democrat, lost his cool on Sunday night at Upper East Side restaurant Sette Mezzo, according to witnesses.

He was dining with friends when he encountered Joseph A. Califano Jr. — the former US secretary of health, education and welfare under President Jimmy Carter and domestic policy adviser to President Lyndon B. Johnson — and his wife, Hilary, who were having a quiet dinner.

Onlookers said Schumer was incensed that Hilary — the daughter of William S. Paley, the founder and chairman of CBS — had voted for Trump, even though her husband, Joseph, is a well-known Democrat.

One witness said of the restaurant rant, “They are a highly respected couple, and Schumer made a scene, yelling, ‘She voted for Trump!’ The Califanos left the restaurant, but Schumer followed them outside.” On the sidewalk, Schumer carried on with his fantastical filibuster: “ ‘How could you vote for Trump? He’s a liar!’ He kept repeating, ‘He’s a liar!’ ”

Hilary confirmed the confrontation, saying, “Sen. Schumer was really rude . . . He’s our senator, and I don’t really like him. Yes, 1 voted for Trump. Schumer joined us outside and he told me Trump was a liar. I should have told him that Hillary Clinton was a liar, but I was so surprised I didn’t say anything.”

Joseph didn’t return calls for comment.

A hedge fund manager who lost billions of his clients' money to Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme leaped to his death from the luxury Sofitel hotel in midtown Manhattan.

Charles W. Murphy, 56, was wearing a dark business suit say witnesses when he plunged to his death from the 24th floor of the 45 W. 44th St. building around 4:42pm on Monday.

He dropped 20 floors before hitting a fourth floor terrace, according to the NYPD. He died at the scene.

Charles Murphy, above with wife Annabelle, is reported to have committed suicide by jumping off the 24th floor of the Sofitel hotel in Manhattan on Monday afternoon

Murphy's former hedge fund had invested $7billion with Madoff said the New York Times.

Murphy was currently employed with Paulson & Co., a New York hedge fund.

Founder Paul Johnson released a statement Monday night saying 'We are extremely saddened by this news. Charles was an extremely gifted and brilliant man, a great partner and a true friend.'

A motive for suicide has not been determined.

In December, Murphy's former hedge fund Fairfield Greenwich settled a class action suit for $80.2million, according to a website for the victims.

Murphy was a Partner and Member of the Executive Committee. The group's Fairfield Sentry Fund was said to be Madoff's biggest feeder fund.

On the day Madoff was taken into federal custody, he was working with Fairfield to set up a new fund.

The Koch brothers, Charles and David, moved $2billion overseas that they managed to make from Madoff before his scheme collapsed. Most of that involved transfers from funds that were operated by Fairfield Greenwich Group.

The brothers are being sued to return the money and share it with thousands of victims, but they refused and in November, a Manhattan bankruptcy judge agreed, saying the overseas money was out of reach, according to Bloomberg.

Murphy was previously a research analyst at Morgan Stanley, and was cohead of the European financial institutions group at Credit Suisse. He graduated from Harvard Law School and MIT Sloan School of Management.

In 2007, Murphy bought the East 67th Street townhouse of Matthew Bronfman for $33 million. He was married to Annabella Murphy, his second wife.

Murphy reportedly tried to off-load the limestone gem, built in 1899, during the Madoff crisis but found no takers. He listed it again in 2016 for $50million, according to The Real Deal

It is now on the market for $36million, listed with Corcoran. It is described as being 11,550 square feet with roof terrace with views of Central Park, a private staff quarters, a gym, a wine cellar, and elevator and a Crestron Total Home Technology system.

Rooms at the Sofitel begin at $150 a night, and the hotel is popular with celebrities, VIPs, and tourists.

In 2011, the hotel made headlines around the world when French politician and head of the IMF, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, was accused of raping a maid in the Sofitel.

Three months later, all charges were dismissed. In 2012, he settled a lawsuit with the maid.

An NYPD detective has been suspended without pay after being arrested for allegedly masturbating while peering in a child's window.

Det. Robert Francis was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Sunday after allegedly standing in a Rockville Centre backyard while peering into a home and masturbating.

Francis, who works in the 71st precinct in Crown Heights, was arrested for public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child, police sources say.

The arrest comes on the heels of an investigation into several similar incidents throughout Rockville Centre.

Three similar crimes happened in February, Rockville Center police say.

The incidents all happened between 8 and 9 p.m. The suspect, described as being about 5-foot-10 and weighing about 220 pounds, stands peering into the victim's window.

The suspect has had either a flashlight or forehead light and was naked from the waist down.

Once the victims spot him, he takes off.

Police sources did not say if Francis is linked to the previous incidents.

The cause of a weekend fire which destroyed a house in Lower Alloways Creek Township, NJ, and left a family homeless remains undermined, officials say.

The blaze in the 300 block of Maskells Mill Road broke out around 7 p.m. Saturday, according to Lower Alloways Creek Fire and Rescue Co. Chief Don Hinchman Jr.

The fast-moving fire quickly gutted the one-story dwelling.

Firefighters remained on the scene into the night

In the rural area there are no fire hydrants so firefighters relied on tanker trucks as their source of water.

Two people became stranded in Stow Creek after their boat became lodged on a mud flat at low tide, officials said.

Along with Lower Alloways Creek, additional area fire companies -- many bringing their water tankers -- responded to assist. They included Quinton, Salem, Mannington, Elsinboro, Alloway and Pennsville. From neighboring Cumberland County, the Greenwich and Hopewell-Stow Creek fire companies aided in the battle. Canteen 6 also was at the scene.

The family of four lost everything, Hinchman said.

As with any large blaze, the state fire marshal's office was called to the scene to investigate. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

One man was killed and two others injured when a tractor trailer struck their vehicle on the westbound Cross Bronx Expressway Monday morning and kept going.

The tractor trailer driver was later stopped by Port Authority police on the New Jersey Turnpike.

The accident happened around 2:20 a.m. Monday on an approach to the bridge near West 180th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, the FDNY said.

Three people had to be pulled from the mangled wreckage and were rushed to Harlem Hospital. Two of the victims were listed in serious condition, officials said.

A pink backpack — apparently belonging to a child — was found at the accident scene. The ages and genders of the injured were not immediately available, police said.

The left-wing, whack-job Mayor of Jersey City, NJ, Steven Fullop, has issued an Executive Order requiring all bathrooms in city-owned buildings be "Gender Neutral."  This sexually perverted abomination brought to you by Democrats. -- hopelessly out of touch with reality and willing to offend all "normal" people to gain power from fringe nutcases.

Fulop's order requires a sign at any bathroom maintained by the city saying, "Gender diversity is welcomed here; please use the restroom that best fits your gender identity or expression."

This is what happens when you put a nutty guy into a position of power.

Authorities say a New Jersey man found his wife and 6-year-old son stabbed to death inside their home.

Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi said Friday that 38-year-old Sasikala Narra and son Anish Narra were both stabbed multiple times inside their home in Maple Shade, a suburb of Philadelphia, late Thursday.

Prosecutors in a release disputed some media reports that it was a hate crime connected to their Indian origin.

Police say the deaths are being investigated

Two dead bodies were pulled from the water at a New Jersey marina Friday, officials say.

The bodies of a man and a woman were found floating in the water near the Channel Club Marina in Monmouth Beach early Friday afternoon, the Monmouth County Prosecutors Officer said.

Law enforcement sources say that the man fell in the water as the two were trying to board the boat.

They said the woman tried to help him, but she also fell in.

Investigations were ongoing.

A pickup truck making a right turn at a Queens intersection hit and killed a baby girl in her stroller Thursday night, police say.

The baby's mother was pushing the stroller across 23rd Avenue in East Elmhurst when the truck turned from 94th Street and hit the stroller, police say.

The driver stayed on the scene. Police identified him as 44-year-old Wallace Ramirez of Massachusetts. Authorities charged him with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care.

Witness Reese Fluellen, who knows the mother because their children play together, says he'd said hello just seconds earlier.

"As I turn the corner, I was walking maybe 10, 15 seconds, I hear a loud crunch, I hear brakes from the truck," he said. "I hear screaming, 'You ran over my baby, You ran over my baby.'"

Fluellen immediately ran back, along with other bystanders who tried to help. The baby, identified as One year old Skylar Perkins of Queens, was unresponsive and appeared not to be breathing, and the mother was hysterical.

Clearly shaken, Fluellen said, "I have a child the exact same age. Our kids play together. It just really hits home."

"There's nothing like seeing a mother think that she's lost her baby. It's one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever seen," he said.

Responding police officers rushed the baby to Elmhurst General Hospital in the back of their patrol car.

The girl, who had severe trauma to the head and body, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
