A pickup truck making a right turn at a Queens intersection hit and killed a baby girl in her stroller Thursday night, police say.

The baby's mother was pushing the stroller across 23rd Avenue in East Elmhurst when the truck turned from 94th Street and hit the stroller, police say.

The driver stayed on the scene. Police identified him as 44-year-old Wallace Ramirez of Massachusetts. Authorities charged him with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care.

Witness Reese Fluellen, who knows the mother because their children play together, says he'd said hello just seconds earlier.

"As I turn the corner, I was walking maybe 10, 15 seconds, I hear a loud crunch, I hear brakes from the truck," he said. "I hear screaming, 'You ran over my baby, You ran over my baby.'"

Fluellen immediately ran back, along with other bystanders who tried to help. The baby, identified as One year old Skylar Perkins of Queens, was unresponsive and appeared not to be breathing, and the mother was hysterical.

Clearly shaken, Fluellen said, "I have a child the exact same age. Our kids play together. It just really hits home."

"There's nothing like seeing a mother think that she's lost her baby. It's one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever seen," he said.

Responding police officers rushed the baby to Elmhurst General Hospital in the back of their patrol car.

The girl, who had severe trauma to the head and body, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police have arrested a Long Island man who has been previously deported multiple times in connection with the sexual assault of a toddler and the stabbings of a woman outside a bar and the child's mother on the same night.

Nassau County police say 31-year-old Tommy Vladim Alvarado-Ventura, of Hempstead, was home with the 2-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son of an acquaintance, as well as another tenant who was watching the children while their mother was at work.

Authorities say the 2-year-old was heard crying as Alvarado-Ventura left the residence at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, before he apparently headed to El Mariachi Loco bar on Fulton Avenue. There, he allegedly got into a fight around 2:20 a.m. that police say was unprovoked and with a female he did not know.

The 24-year-old woman with whom he was fighting reportedly tried to leave the bar, but police said he began punching and kicking her in the parking lot before stabbing her multiple times and slicing the inside of her mouth. Alvarado-Ventura allegedly fled, while the victim was rushed to the hospital with a collapsed lung.

After Alvarado-Ventura returned to the home, at 4:15 a.m., he and the acquaintance argued after police said the woman noticed severe injuries on her 2-year-old.

Police say Alvarado-Ventura punched the victim, then stabbed her. Despite her injuries, she was able to take her children to another area of the apartment and call police from a neighbor's once Alvarado-Ventura fell asleep.

When officers arrived a short time later, Alvarado-Ventura was taken into custody. He has reportedly a self-admitted gang member who has been deported four times and has an extensive criminal history, including possession of drugs, assault, resisting arrest, DWI and disorderly conduct.

Raging Fire Destroys Newark Building

Fire tore through a building in the North Ward of Newark, NJ Thursday night, displacing residents.

Firefighters responded to 848-850 Summer Avenue around 11 p.m. and found a restaurant and grocery store with apartments overhead ablaze. Heavy flames burned through the roof of the structure as firefighters in two overhead ladder trucks attacked the blaze from above while four more streams of water were poured on the fire from street level.

Fire and heavy clouds of white smoke continued to pour from the building as of 1 a.m., about two hours after firefighters responded.

The latest leaks from WikiLeaks' Vault 7 is titled “Dark Matter” and claims that the CIA has been bugging “factory fresh” iPhones since at least 2008 through suppliers.  The full documents are expected to be released after a 10 a.m. EDT “press briefing” that WikiLeaks promoted on its Twitter.

Here is a live stream of the pending press briefing with Julian Assange:

And here is the full press release from WikiLeaks:

Today, March 23rd 2017, WikiLeaks releases Vault 7 "Dark Matter", which contains documentation for several CIA projects that infect Apple Mac Computer firmware (meaning the infection persists even if the operating system is re-installed) developed by the CIA's Embedded Development Branch (EDB). These documents explain the techniques used by CIA to gain 'persistence' on Apple Mac devices, including Macs and iPhones and demonstrate their use of EFI/UEFI and firmware malware.

Among others, these documents reveal the "Sonic Screwdriver" project which, as explained by the CIA, is a "mechanism for executing code on peripheral devices while a Mac laptop or desktop is booting" allowing an attacker to boot its attack software for example from a USB stick "even when a firmware password is enabled". The CIA's "Sonic Screwdriver" infector is stored on the modified firmware of an Apple Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapter.

"DarkSeaSkies" is "an implant that persists in the EFI firmware of an Apple MacBook Air computer" and consists of "DarkMatter", "SeaPea" and "NightSkies", respectively EFI, kernel-space and user-space implants.

Documents on the "Triton" MacOSX malware, its infector "Dark Mallet" and its EFI-persistent version "DerStake" are also included in this release. While the DerStake1.4 manual released today dates to 2013, other Vault 7 documents show that as of 2016 the CIA continues to rely on and update these systems and is working on the production of DerStarke2.0.

Also included in this release is the manual for the CIA's "NightSkies 1.2" a "beacon/loader/implant tool" for the Apple iPhone. Noteworthy is that NightSkies had reached 1.2 by 2008, and is expressly designed to be physically installed onto factory fresh iPhones. i.e the CIA has been infecting the iPhone supply chain of its targets since at least 2008.

While CIA assets are sometimes used to physically infect systems in the custody of a target it is likely that many CIA physical access attacks have infected the targeted organization's supply chain including by interdicting mail orders and other shipments (opening, infecting, and resending) leaving the United States or otherwise.

Israeli police say they have arrested a 19-year-old Israeli Jewish man as the primary suspect in a string of bomb threats targeting Jewish community centers in the U.S.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said Thursday the suspect's motives are unclear.

Rosenfeld says the suspect is "the guy who was behind the JCC threats," referring to Jewish community centers in the U.S. that have received dozens of anonymous threats in recent weeks.

Rosenfeld says the man, from the south of Israel, used advanced technologies to mask the origin of his calls and communications to synagogues, community buildings and public venues. He says the suspect also made threats in New Zealand and Australia.

He says the investigation was carried out with the help of the FBI and police from other countries.

Worst Roads in USA: NY, NJ & CT

According to a recent report on road conditions across the United States, the NY, NJ, CT, tri-state area has the dubious distinction of having some of the worst roads in the country.

New Jersey had the fifth highest percentage of poor roads in the nation with 38%.

New York came in with the ninth highest at 28% of its roads in bad condition.

The study also found that 1 out of every 5 miles of highway roads are in poor condition, which isn't a good figure considering that last year, U.S. roads carried vehicles over 3 trillion miles.

Congressman Devin Nunes of the US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee today CONFIRMED that Intelligence Agencies did, in fact, collect electronic eavesdropping material from the Transition Team of then-President-Elect Trump.

This revelation smashes claims that Trump "lied" or "exaggerated" such claims, and makes fools of the mass-media which repeatedly accused Trump of making this claim "without any proof."  It turns out the President knew exactly what he was saying and it was true!

The video below, from CSPAN-3, aired at 5:20 PM eastern Daylight time today, March 22, 2017.  Immediately after this press briefing by Congressman Nunes, he traveled to the White House to inform the President of the Committe's new findings.

Five people have been killed in a "sick and depraved" terror attack that brought carnage to the heart of London, including the police officer who was stabbed and his assailant.

Mark Rowley, Scotland Yard's top anti-terror officer, confirmed that 40 people were injured after the attacker - armed with two large knives - mowed down pedestrians with his car on Westminster Bridge then rushed at the gates in front of the Houses of Parliament, stabbing a plain-clothes policeman before he was shot by armed officers on Wednesday afternoon.

The officer who died was later named as Keith Palmer, 48 a husband and father.

The three other fatalities are understood to be people who were hit by the car on Westminster Bridge.

Witnesses described scenes of terror when gunfire rang out as the attacker approached a second officer within yards of the Houses of Parliament.

The suspected attacker was pictured being treated by paramedics on a stretcher, as two knives used in the assault lay on the ground nearby.

Paramedics fought to save his life and that of his police victim on the floor of the cobbled courtyard in front of Parliament, with Foreign Office minister Tobias Ellwood among those who rushed to help.

The police officer was wheeled away on a stretcher with his face covered and it was later confirmed he had died.

MPs said that the terror attack could have been prevented if police on duty at a well-known security “weak spot” had simply kept it bolted.

The killer managed to get in through a vehicle gate in New Palace Yard – used by the Prime Minister and other members of the Government – because it was not locked.

Prime Minister Theresa May has described the attack as "sick and  depraved".

Speaking outside 10 Downing Street after chairing a meeting of the Government's Cobra emergencies committee, Mrs May paid tribute to the "exceptional men and women" of the police force who responded to the attack.

Mrs May said that any attempt to defeat the values that Parliament stands for was "doomed to failure".

And she vowed: "We will all move forward together, never giving in to terror and never allowing the voices of hate and evil to drive us apart."
